Blue Moons 1900 to 1909

From 1900 to 1909 there were seven blue moons. Two full moons in one month is the most common blue moon definition. The other type of blue moon occurs when a season has an extra full moon. A seasonal blue moon is the third full moon in a season which has four full moons.

Between 1900 and 1909 there was a blue moon in 1901, 1902, 1904, 1905, 1906, 1907, and 1909. 1900, 1903, and 1908 did not have a blue moon.

1905 Seasonal Blue Moon

The 1905 seasonal blue moon was on February 19, 1905 1:52 PM EST or 6:52 PM UTC. It was also a supermoon. It was a seasonal blue moon because Winter 1904-1905 had four full moons. The February 1905 full moon was the third full moon of the season, making it a seasonal blue moon. A February Seasonal Blue Moon is extremely rare.

The February 19th full moon was the second full moon of the year and the blue moon in Virgo. There was a Partial Lunar Eclipse during the blue moon.
