January Blue Moons: When is the next blue moon in January?

Two full moons in one month is one definition of a blue moon. From time to time, a blue moon occurs in January. Because of the way the calendar lines up, it’s not a consistent number of years in between each January Blue Moon.

The other definition of a blue moon is the third full moon in a season which has four full moons. Because the January Full Moon is always either the first or second full moon of the Winter season, it will never be considered a seasonal blue moon.
